THE MOON, INTENTION AND YOUR YOGA PRACTICE

practical magic for integrating the moon and intention into your practice

join yoga teacher Molly Haight for an all women’s yoga workshop integrating physical asana, meditation, intention setting and practical work with the moon and other aspects of nature. In this 2.5 hour workshop you can expect about an hour long deep vinyasa practice, followed by seated meditation, and an interactive discussion on intention setting and moon science and practicalities. this workshop is open to all levels of yogis and believers. This workshop is for you if you are looking to connect with other women in your community, learn how to integrate nature into practice, or effectively set intentions. Please bring a journal and pen.

Molly Haight is a yoga teacher in Oakland, CA. She also leads monthly new moon circles for women. When she started practicing, Molly was disconnected from most things - her body, her emotions, the world around her and especially the natural rhythms of the world. Yoga brought Molly a sense of groundedness and confidence in her body and in herself. As her practice progressed, she discovered how easily nature wound itself into her practice. As a city dweller, she cherishes the constant presence of the moon and this unique connection to nature. Molly has completed over 500 hours of training under her teachers Annie Carpenter and Stephanie Snyder. Molly is also a certified Wild Woman Project moon circle leader. Hailing from a world of practicality and years of studying journalism, Molly believes in finding the perfect balance between magic and reality.

what to expect

A perfectly timed escape. A getaway without getting too far away. A few hours outside of the city to reconnect to what's important.

Us Californians are lucky. Just a short drive from our doorsteps we can find ourselves on beautiful beaches, watching whales off of cliff sides, swimming in rivers and getting lost amongst the oldest trees on earth. The Santa Cruz mountains are like a spiritual sanctuary full of these old trees. Housing a number of state parks, hundreds of miles of trail through redwood trees and small towns with less people than the apartment buildings we live in, it's a quiet  and humbling refuge. I am excited to explore the redwoods with you, especially on the day of a full moon.  

Everyone lives busy lives, taking an afternoon off to be in nature with like minded people will recharge you and inspire you. Join me! 

The entire day is open to all levels of yogis and hikers.

some other things you might want to know

You can expect a 5 - 7 mile hike in Henry Cowell State Park, because of their length the hikes we take are considered "moderate" but never include too much vigorous uphills or downhills.   

Even though we won't be hiking under the full moon, we will be celebrating it. If you aren't into following the moon or don't understand what it's all about, you can expect a practical, non-fairy talk discussion about the implications of this full moon as we move into the fall and optional intention setting. 

Yoga will take place in the town of Ben Lomond at the Alba Schoolhouse, a beautiful, unique school house built in 1895. Ben Lomond is a 10 minute drive from our hike.

9:30am - 12noon hike at Henry Cowell State Park

12pm snack in the redwoods

1pm yoga at Ben Lomond Schoolhouse

2:30pm lunch at the Ben Lomond Schoolhouse

Full moon discussion/intention setting

Guided hike

A hearty snack and a vegetarian lunch

What to expect

A perfectly timed escape. A getaway without getting too far away. A few hours outside of the city to reconnect to what's important.

Bolinas is the hidden gem of the Bay Area and for good reason. It's a welcome refuge for surfers, hippies and everyone in between. We will spend a day together exploring what Bolinas has to offer. Taking a moderate hike along side the ocean, practicing yoga on the beach that overlooks the Marin headlands and the San Francisco skyline and enjoying a healthy meal prepared with fresh, local produce. After that, there will be plenty of time for you to explore on your own. 

Everyone lives busy lives, taking an afternoon off to be in nature with like minded people will recharge you and inspire you. Join me!
